I wish to request a Statement regarding the handling of the body of the late James Oyugi Onyango of Kamalunga Village, Simur Kondiek in Ugenya Sub-County. Pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2) (c), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Health regarding the handling of the body of the late James Oyugi Onyango of Kamalunga in Ugenya, who allegedly passed on due to Coronavirus disease-related complications. Following the outbreak of the Coronavirus disease commonly referred to as COVID-19 worldwide, the declaration of the WHO of the outbreak as a pandemic and the continuous rising cases that have even affected the country… What efforts have been made by the Government to contain such situations? We need assurance to ensure that treatments in the case of infections deal with the inevitable isolation and self-quarantine. It is against this background that I seek a statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Health to clarify the manner of treatment and handling of COVID-19 patients, suspected patients and those who succumb to the virus by addressing the following issues;"
