    "content": " I beg to move: THAT, the Schedule be amended— (b) in the proposed amendments to the Value Added Tax Act, 2013, by— (iii) deleting the proposed amendment to the following paragraph of Part I of Section A of the First Schedule⸺ (b) paragraph 26; The justification is that the Bill was amending this paragraph so that fertiliser attracts Value Added Tax. It was going to increase the price of fertiliser at this time of planting. Therefore, we are doing this amendment to save farmers. It is to ensure that the price is still stable given that farmers lost subsidy last year. There was no subsidy. They are buying at market price. If we increase the price of fertiliser, it is going to cost the country dearly in terms of the cost of production of food."
