"content": "Hon. Speaker, I wish to further confirm that the Ministry is in the process of preparing the payments for the months of May and June, 2020 to these beneficiaries. My Committee will follow up to ensure any gaps identified by Members are corrected in the subsequent payment cycles. Hon. Mwashako also sought information regarding measures taken by the Ministry to ensure all vulnerable persons particularly the elderly above the age of 70 years are included in the programme. I wish to confirm that according to the records from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, Population Census 2019, there are 1,239,410 citizens aged 70 years and above. In the Ministry’s current database, there are 833,129 covered by Inua Jamii and, therefore, leaving out 406,281.
