    "content": "Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this calls for action, that even as we focus on COVID- 19, we need not to lose focus on the efforts we have made to curb Malaria and other public health concerns like HIV/AIDS and TB. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, at this point, I would like to point out that malaria is killing more people now as a result of floods that we are experiencing now, especially in the former Nyanza and Western provinces. It is important to note that when Okiya Omtatah lost his daughter, Maryanne Omtatah, due to malaria, she had been in ICU for a week. This goes to say that hospitals are losing focus or they are not putting much emphasis on these illnesses because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We call upon hospitals to remember our historical diseases. In addition to this, we have had patients being turned away from public hospitals owing to the disruption of normal services."
