"content": ". The vacancies advertised include - (i)One hundred and ninety-five vacancies at the national level for various cadre of health workers ranging from registered nurses and radiographers, among others. (ii)Seven hundred and nineteen vacancies in the Nairobi Metropolitan Services for Baringo County, Kirinyaga, Kitui, Lamu and Mombasa counties and 5,089 vacancies in what they called “other counties”. In his Statement, the Chairperson should - (1) Explain the rationale and circumstance behind the decision by the PSC and the MoH to recruit health workers on behalf of county governments. (2) Provide the measures that have been put in place to mitigate the risks of conflict of interest and the fragmented chain of command that maybe brought about by the national recruitment of health workers who are domiciled at the county level. (3) Provide the rationale behind the differentiation of the 719 vacancies advertised for Nairobi Metropolitan services, Baringo, Kirinyaga, Kitui, Lamu and Mombasa counties versus the 5,089 vacancies advertised in “other counties.” (4) Provide clarification on the status of the recruitment in Homa Bay County, including details on the alleged halting of recruitment processes in the county by the PSC.
