A while ago, the Chair directed that my Committee brings a Statement on maize and also on the progress that the Ministry has done with the recommendations of the Senate Ad hoc Committee on Maize. At its 74th sitting held on 22nd April, 2020, the Committee resolved to invite the Cabinet Secretary (CS), Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives to appear before it to address the mire of the importation of maize and to brief the Committee on the implementation status of the recommendations of the Senate Ad hoc Committee on maize.
