"content": "House should not abdicate its role to the Executive because the Executive has its own role of implementation. However, this House has a bigger role of legislation and oversight and because of the various efforts that are there now on the issue of COVID-19, we need one committee that will be a one-stop shop for all the issues to be brought together and harmonized. It worries me to see the Departmental Committee on Health being so worried that the proposed ad hoc committee may take its role and address issues beyond it - like issues to do with trade and the hunger that has been created by COVID-19 in our constituencies. There is a lot that needs to be brought under one roof in the formation of this committee. Therefore, I would say it has happened before…"
