  • 17 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: If you look at qualified persons and the set qualifications, you will find that some practitioners are lacking. I remember there is a lady in my county who went to see a dentist who removed nine teeth at once. This is the case and yet it was just a tooth that had a problem. I think this happened because this doctor was not qualified. The Bill talks about qualified and registered persons. It also talks about the board working in consultation with approved institutions. Sometimes, people wake up in the morning and just put up institutions saying they are training ... view
  • 3 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I congratulate you for this new position. Now that you are coming from the Opposition side, where we have tyranny of brains, you will be above average. Let me now contribute on the Motion. I support this Motion and say that we need clean and safe water for drinking. In schools, we must have tanks. view

  • 3 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: I am on the queue, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I wanted to make an amendment on the issue of Muslim Sheikhs but it is being done. So, I am on the queue. view
  • 21 Jul 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I just want to support the petition since we all know that we do not have enough teachers in our schools. Most of them tend to go to towns because they tend to feel that, that is a place for them to be. We have to motivate those going to hardship areas by giving them hardship allowances so that most of them are able to go to those schools and teach. To make sure that we have enough staff in the hardship areas, we need to motivate the teachers who go there. Thank you. view
  • 20 Jul 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I want to support the Petition and also ask the Government to give the cash transfers in good time. This is because, usually they delay and you find principals sending away those students. What they say as we even talk of free education or free secondary education, I want to ask the Government to be giving that money in good time. Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. view
  • 8 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Bill. Ranking is very important. Some complain that there will be a lot of cheating. For the last two years ranking has not been done but the number of the student who cheated was very high. So, that should not be an excuse. We will come up with regulations so that cheating is minimised. view
  • 8 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: Competition is all over even in athletics or games. There is ranking. It is everywhere. • 8 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: the last one. So, if we now say that ranking should not be done, it should start from the classroom itself. Ranking is very important. view
  • 8 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: I remember last year Members of Parliament, County Women Representatives and other people were ranked. We should not say that ranking is bad. It is always good to know what is happening or which position you are. How do you measure your performance if there is no ranking? You must evaluate yourself. Even teachers rank themselves after a lesson. They evaluate themselves to find out how they taught a lesson whether it was well done or not and then correct themselves. view
