  • 3 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: support the amendment that rather than reducing the figure of the employees’ contribution from 12 per cent to 7 per cent, that figure should remain at 12 per cent. If anything, it should even be enhanced because we know the kind of problems that we get when people attain the age of retirement and we do not want to add the number of dependants. The dependants’ syndrome we already have in the country of 9:1 is quite high such that nine people depend upon one person for their socio-economic wellbeing. First and foremost, the President did cover the key areas that his Government was able to achieve during the first term in office, that is, 2013 to 2017, right from infrastructural development to food security and all the other areas including security. The most important area is the implementation of the Constitution that was promulgated in 2010. So, we support the President in this and it is our hope that he will achieve the Big Four Agenda and the other aspects of development. I support. view
