  • 20 May 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister confirm whether Nairobi City Council, which has been in arrears for many years, has effected the payments for members of staff who have retired in the last three years? view
  • 12 May 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like the Assistant Minister to clarify what criteria the Ministry uses to identify areas that receive free fertilizer and seeds. For instance, Kiharu Constituency borders Maragua South, which receives all those facilities and yet, my constituency does not receive any. How does the Ministry decide which areas in the Republic of Kenya deserve to receive free seeds and fertilizer? view
  • 12 May 2009 in National Assembly: On a point or order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister is misleading us. We have no depot in Murang’a. I would appreciate if he could construct one in Murang’a. For now, we do not have one. view
  • 7 May 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has described the situation as it was. It has been observed that these motorcycle riders went through view
  • 6 May 2009 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Maybe the Assistant Minister needs to clarify the merits and demerits of recruitment of teachers. He has said that the country has adequate trained teachers who should take up the role of teaching. The performance of our schools, especially primary schools, is deteriorating. We are in an economic crisis. The parents in my constituency, like in any other area in Central Province, have employed teachers who should have been employed by the Government. This is the case and yet the Government comes up with papers that say that it will create employment. Is it ... view
  • 6 May 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister is avoiding telling us how the teachers who have retired are as few as the vacancies that exist. He has said that the Government has trained enough teachers. Actually, there is something amiss. Could he clarify why he cannot recruit the trained teachers at home to replace those who have either died or retired? view
  • 18 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, while I appreciate that the Assistant Minister is trying to answer the Question, I thought I concur with the former speaker who contributed because the Ministry has committed itself to do the road and the Assistant Minister is aware that the road between Kenol and Maragwa has been committed to be patched and resealed. What is the Ministry doing to keep their promise and repair the road? view
  • 8 May 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has made an attempt to answer the Question that was asked by hon. Were, but the problem is not confined to that constituency. In my constituency, we have electric wires and transformers which were fixed but the project has been delayed. This is not because of the post-election crisis. The explanation given is that the Ministry received substandard poles. Could the Assistant Minister tell this House when quality poles will be supplied to KPLC to ensure that our communities get connected to electricity? There is also what is referred to as Umeme Pamoja Project ... view
  • 7 May 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, although the Assistant Minister is attempting to answer the Question, the problem we have is that this fund does not affect only the particular school. It is a national problem. I know one of the national schools where students have been asked to pay school fees because they did not receive the funds. Could the Assistant Minister be good enough to tell us how much they had disbursed by the end of the term? Some students have not reported to school yet. view
  • 29 Apr 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. My name is Muturi Mwangi. It is shocking for the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs to say that the Committee will look into the housing issues of warders. They are not in houses! Those are not houses! view
  • 29 Apr 2008 in National Assembly: While I acknowledge that the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs has taken quick action, could he say exactly what mode of a house he intends to build for the warders immediately? view
