  • 28 Mar 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me the opportunity to contribute on this Motion. From the onset, I rise to support the President's Speech. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, allow me to join my colleagues who have already contributed by thanking the Chair for recognising the good work done by hon. Members. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is sad that the President mentioned agriculture in passing and yet, this is a very important sector of our economy. This country is endowed with good climatic conditions. For example, coffee, sugar-cane and tea are grown in western Kenya. ... view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Administration and National Security:- (a) if he is aware that police officers who were stationed at Ng'omwet Police Post in Kericho have been moved to Kipsitet Centre; (b) if the answer to "a" above is in the affirmative, if he could confirm whether or not Kipsitet is gazetted as a Police Post; and, (c) if he could also confirm whether or not Ng'omwet has been degazetted as a police post and if so, why. view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister says that Ng'omwet Police Post was not gazetted because it stands on private land. That police post is very old. It is actually strategically situated in as far as cattle rustling is concerned. It is situated on the boundary of the Kipsigis and Luos. Could he tell this House why it has taken a long time for the Government to acquire land and gazette that police post? view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister says that Kipsitet Co-operative Society is willing to give the Government land. That is still private land. Ng'omwet Trading Centre is situated right on the boundary. It can be used to handle cattle rustling better. Could he consider acquiring the land in Ng'omwet, so that a police post can be built there, rather than in Kipsitet? view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister says that if I am willing to negotiate with the owner of the land, they will move the police post there. How do I do that when I do not even have land in that area. Is he in order? view
  • 16 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Bill. First, I take this opportunity to thank His Excellency the President for appointing me as an Assistant Minister in the Ministry of Youth Affairs. I wish to say it is an honour to the people of Kajiado South Constituency and to the youth of this nation. It is my sincere belief that I will measure up to the task ahead. On the subject matter, I want from the outset to support this Bill, it is long over due. This Bill has been brought ... view
  • 9 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, one way of easing congestion on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway is by tarmacking the Emali-Loitokitok-Taveta Road through Mazeras to provide an alternative route from Mombasa. When is the Government going to tarmack this road? view
  • 8 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this Assistant Minister is taking us round and round. The fact is that this institution is operating illegally. Why should it not be closed down? It could even be a police case! view
  • 1 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Transport over the poor time management of our national airline, Kenya Airways (KQ). Over the last few days, members of public have experienced a lot of inconveniences caused by delays in both departures and arrivals of KQ's flights, especially operating between Nairobi and Mombasa. This has actually caused a lot of inconveniences especially for those who have to connect flights. They have been forced to overstay and, therefore, overspend. I would, therefore, wish to seek a Ministerial Statement from the ... view
