  • 25 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the Land (Amendment) Bill, 2019. As it has been said earlier, land is a factor of production. Therefore, as the population increases, land gets affected. I want to thank the Hon. Member for coming up with this particular amendment. It is true that public lands are being grabbed left, right and centre. I believe this particular amendment will cure the “disease” of land grabbing. It is true that where we come from, a number of community lands and ranches do not have title deeds. As much as this Bill talks about ... view
  • 18 Feb 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I beg to second the Kenya National Library Service Bill, 2020. As the Leader of the Majority Party has clearly indicated, this Bill seeks to repeal the Kenya National Library Service Board Act which has been around for the last 54 years. It is a very old Act. This Bill is long overdue. It also takes into consideration that the Bill needs to be aligned to our Constitution, 2010. The Bill provides for the establishment of the Kenya National Library Service to repeal or to replace the Kenya National Library Service Board. This Bill takes into ... view

  • 29 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute. I also thank you for giving us this opportunity to ventilate on this particular issue. I join my colleagues in condemning this information from Infotrak Research and Consulting Limited. What they used to give out this information is wanting. One, as my colleagues have put it, some constituencies are as small as wards. Therefore, it is really unfortunate because these people do not respect the kind of work that we do. I like the way Hon. Makali Mulu has put it. They do not even understand the methodology of ... view
