  • 2 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Bill. This Bill is very important to our ECD centres. If you look at ECD centres in our constituencies and counties, you will notice that they lack important structures for education of our children. The passage of this Bill will ensure that there is monitoring of teachers in ECD centres. The ECD is a foundation to our education and if it is not firm, then the whole structure will not be stable. In my area, some ECD centres do not have classrooms. At times, when you hold a function ... view
  • 2 Mar 2021 in National Assembly: The curriculum for ECD teachers and what our children will be taught is ready. This Bill is important because it will help ECD centres to be at a level where other jurisdictions are. An education centre is not like a shop that somebody wakes up one day and gets a business licence to run. Unfortunately, that is what is happening with some ECD centres. With those remarks, I support this Bill and urge Members to support it for the sake of our young children. view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for this opportunity. I want to support the Report from the Committee. We thank God because of the NG-CDF in some marginalised areas. The funds are doing a lot of good work in the local areas. Maybe what we need to think of is that sometimes, as a representative of the people, when you go to a place where the locals require a dispensary, you are not allowed to use the funds. So, the Committee needs to look into this aspect because we really need to open up the funds since we are not seeing ... view
  • 11 Mar 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, we do not need all these officers in this board. This is just like any other board and our usual practice is that when an issue that concerns roads arises, then the money will be channeled to that Ministry to implement. We do not need them in the board. I oppose. view
  • 20 Nov 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to ask Question No.505 of 2019 to the CS for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary state why Lerata-Wamba road was reclassified from class “C” to “rural roads” status? (ii) What urgent plans are there to upgrade the road to bitumen standards? Thank you, Hon. Speaker. view
  • 7 Aug 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I want to support this amendment. Pastoralists and nomads are the ones who understand the challenges they face. This census is being done in the month of August which is a dry period for us. The Leader of the Majority Party has said that data will be collected. The Member is seeking that the data collected be transferred to one’s county of origin. The reason being that the Government uses census to allocate resources. It is unfair to pastoralists who have moved from their counties to other counties since they will not get their ... view

  • 8 May 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I want to support this Petition. Children with disabilities need good attention. view
  • 8 May 2019 in National Assembly: I want to say that children with disabilities need proper attention. They are the most vulnerable people. If they are to be relocated and their place taken, it is not good. I support the Petition and thank Nominee 001 for this. Otherwise, it is necessary for the children to be protected. view
  • 2 May 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I beg to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government the following Question by Private Notice. (i) Is the Cabinet Secretary aware that many residents of Samburu East Constituency of Samburu County may not register for the National Integrated Information Management System (NIIMS), popularly known as Huduma Namba for lack of vital documents such as identification cards and birth certificates? (ii) What measures is the Ministry putting in place to ensure that the citizens of Samburu East Constituency will get the required documents before the end of the registration exercise? view
