  • 19 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, according to the records, the 12 kilometres portion of this road was allocated Kshs100 million last year. They have also allocated it Kshs70 million this financial year. Phase two of this road has been allocated another Kshs70 million. In total, the Assistant Minister says they have allocated Kshs240 million for rehabilitation of this road. What is the logic of them starting to do another section of this road before they complete the first 12 kilometres? Why not concentrate all the money on the 12 kilometres, so that you complete it by April next year? view
  • 18 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Forestry and Wildlife the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Under what circumstances was Mr. Patrick Kibet Kiprono (ID No.9865647) killed by a Kenya Forest Service Warden while harvesting dry firewood at Kapchemutwa Forest near Chebiemit in Keiyo District on 12th August, 2012? (b) Why has the responsible warden been released by the Police without being taken to court? (c) What compensation will the Government give to the deceased’s next of kin? view
  • 18 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I want to bring to your notice that I have not got a written answer to this Question. view
  • 18 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I still want to express my disappointment with the answer as has exactly been said by Mr. Olago. It is the same answer and he repeats the same mistake of calling the forest Chebiemit while it is not Chebiemit but Chemutwo Forest. He is not serious in his answer and I will still request that he goes back to bring a proper answer. view
  • 18 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I suggest that we defer this Question until Thursday, this week. view

  • 12 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Prime Minister has said that Parliament took over the issue of the Greenfield project before the Executive concluded it, yet the Executive was given enough time to explain to the House. The Minister responsible should have explained to the House and satisfied the Speaker, because the Speaker made a ruling based on what was explained by the Government. The Government did not explain the way the Prime Minister has done today and so, the blame is not on this House but on the Executive. Why was that information not given to the Speaker at ... view

  • 11 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am very disappointed with the quality of this answer because it does not reflect any seriousness from the Assistant Minister. I want to clarify some points which are not correct. The Assistant Minister has misrepresented some points. The Question I asked is about Kapchemutwa Forest and not Chebiemit Forest or Elgeyo Forest. The Assistant Minister has also referred to Kaptagat which is in Keiyo South. He has said that the body was taken to Kaptagat District Hospital Mortuary and yet that district hospital does not exist. I want the Assistant Minister to clarify these issues ... view
  • 11 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would still plead that the Assistant Minister goes and brings back a proper answer because this answer is not satisfactory. The names he has referred to in his answer are not correct. He is referring to places which are not within that area and are outside my constituency because this incident happened within my constituency and in the northern part of my constituency; not in the southern part. I would plead with you that the Assistant Minister be asked to come back again with a proper answer. view
