  • 20 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: the first time we will agree on this and move forward. I know you are a caring Member of Parliament and we can walk together. Members, please, let us support this Policy. view
  • 14 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to support the approval of the list of Cabinet Secretary nominees. Let me congratulate the President and his deputy for finding it nice to honour the promises they made, which is to give us the best Cabinet that will deliver their mission in the next five years. I take this opportunity, through you, to thank the President, specifically for appointing Prof. Margaret Kobia who happens to come from my constituency. view
  • 14 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Prof. Margaret Kobia has been very consistent in her work as a civil servant. She has been a role model to the girl-child, particularly at the place she comes from called Kerwa, where she has also participated a lot in community development. She has specifically dug a borehole for the community with the little income she gets as a civil servant. She has been very consistent in guiding and becoming a counsellor to our young girls who aspire to be like her. Being an advisor to the United Nations (UN) on public administration is not a simple thing. We need ... view

  • 14 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the Member has said that they have nothing to do with the approval of the names as presented in the list. Up to that point, it is my understanding that you should tell him to sit down because he has seized this opportunity to issue a statement yet that is not what we are debating. It is not in order to allow the Member to continue insulting others saying that this is not serious business and calling it a circus. We are not in the business of a circus and corridors in this Parliament. view
  • 14 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: First, I ask my good friend to withdraw the words “circus” and “corridors”. That is not why we are here. He is actually out of order. view
  • 30 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I would like to support this Bill as it is and with the few amendments many Members have spoken about. • 30 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: commitment of the Jubilee Government, despite the fact that our opponents have not realised that there is a Government in power, is to make it easier for citizens to enjoy the benefits of good governance. The Bill before us caters for the disadvantaged, the low income and high income earners and puts them at a level where their businesses are managed even when they have passed on because they are guaranteed that whatever they have left behind will be enjoyed by those they have left without having many legal issues and expenses. view
  • 30 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: I have been a victim of what the Hon. Member who has spoken has mentioned. I am still going through the same issue. If this Bill was in force, it would have made it easy for me to solve that problem. We have many people in my rural area who are poor and with few properties. When they pass on unscrupulous people in society or even some institutions scramble for their land. When we will have a Public Trustee in place, it means that even the small people in the villages are protected and their transactions can go on smoothly. ... view
