  • 9 Jun 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Considering the mood of the House and the deliberations going on, it appears that Members are in concurrence with the Report. So I stand under Standing Order No. 95 to call the Mover to respond so that we can move to another matter. view
  • 17 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. On my behalf, that of the great people of Ganze and the entire Coast region, I take this opportunity to convey our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Senator Victor Prengei. He was a friend and also a colleague in the Kenya Young Parliamentarians Association. We shared a lot and from where I sit, I highly believe it was not the right time for him to go, but because God’s will cannot be subverted, I join others in praying for his soul to rest in eternal peace. view
  • 5 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I have the pleasure to ask Question No. 267/2021 directed to the Cabinet Secretary for Education: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain why Ngamani Primary School in Jaribuni Ward, Ganze Constituency is managed through Kilifi Sub-County as opposed to Kahuma Sub-County where it falls administratively? (ii) Could the Cabinet Secretary outline the measures the Ministry has put in place to address infrastructural and management challenges currently facing the said school? view
  • 5 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I beg to bring to your attention that in (i), there was a typo whereby they had indicated that the school was in Kwale County but it is in Kahuma Sub-County. view
  • 5 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I do second. view
  • 7 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I will comment on two of the Petitions, that is, the one by Hon. Charles Nguna and the other one by Hon. Kassim Sawa Tandaza. Yesterday we were dealing with a Report from the Committee on Delegated Legislation on Equalization Fund. In the Report, they had given an elaborate information on where and how other areas within the country were marginalized and they require to be considered for Equalization Fund. In the Government reports, you find that Kitui features almost everywhere that it has been disadvantaged. It is unfortunate that when it came to looking at ... view
  • 7 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: I am also wondering why the Kwale County Government allowed these people to put up such perimeter walls on that piece of land. I think the county government should also be keen on allowing people to put up perimeter walls without finding out whether the title deeds those people hold are genuine or not. Since I am a member of the Departmental Committee on Lands, I believe Hon. Tandaza is well assured that we are going to handle this matter critically and come up with something tangible. Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. view
  • 6 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, is it in order for a dignified Member of the House to sit on the floor of the House? As Hon. Members, we need to be in order. There is a Member who is seated on the floor of the House, the Member for Chepalungu. view
  • 6 Jul 2021 in National Assembly: Yes. Is that a dignified way for Members of Parliament to behave in this House? view
  • 30 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. At the outset, though I support the Report, I feel the Committee was very lenient in their recommendations based on what they observed on the ground and the reality we know as people from the region who have interacted with those employees. After some employees reported to the County Member of Parliament, the company thought it was wise to terminate their service so that they would not give out more information concerning what happens at the company. The company has resorted to employ more people from outside the county because they do ... view
