  • 17 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I stand to support this Bill. I have worked as a Director of Social Services and Housing. This was my area of concern. We saw groups being formed and registered, and the good things the groups did in the nation of Kenya. As a Women Representative, we liaise with women groups, youth groups and persons with disabilities groups. We are given affirmative funds which we distribute to these groups. We need a Bill, which will really take care of these people. The social development officer will be in charge of the registration. The social development committees ... view
  • 17 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, they have in this Bill talked about 271,400 groups in the country. We cannot take that for granted. I know very well that there was a group in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu when I was young in those days. They had bought some buses called Olare. • 17 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: come to Nairobi. I have seen people who have started small and right now they are holding and owning buildings because of group work. We need to really encourage our people to form groups so that they enhance their living standards. We are talking about the bottom-up approach to development. The bottom-up approach is talking about enhancing the groups and bringing them together. When I talk about bottom-up, it is what I used to teach at the university. There is the top-down and the bottom-up approach in development. When we talk about the top-down approach, people bring policies which will ... view
  • 13 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, there is need to regulate the sugar which is entering the country. A sample needs to be given so that we do not bring mercury instead. We need to know whether the said sugar is not in Kenya so that we do not kill the sugar industry here. We should not kill our own manufacturers by allowing imported sugar to flood our country. view
  • 7 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: (Nandi CWR, JP) Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I support the first petitioner on the National Prayer Day. The Holy Bible in 1st Thessalonians 5:17 calls upon us to pray without ceasing. Similarly in Jeremiah 33:3, it says “Call unto me and I will answer you. I will show you great and mighty things which you do not know”. Therefore this nation needs prayer. There are many things that have happened in Kenya and, as a prayerful woman, we need to call upon God. We do not just pray those written prayers. We need prophets to give us direction concerning this ... view

  • 6 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: billion. The Government should pay because the High Court awarded the contractor to be paid in 2011. So, this money is accruing an interest of 18 per cent every year. The President gave a directive that all pending bills be paid. Even in the counties, there should be prompt payment and the counties should receive their money because there are quite a number of contractors in our counties who have taken loans. They are stressed because their plots and shambas are being sold. The Government uses the people to provide and equip but they are not being paid. Let this ... view
  • 17 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. On my own behalf, the people of Nandi, Nakuru and the youth of Kenya, I wish to convey my condolences to the family of the late Senator Victor Prengei. He was representing youth issues selflessly. He was not only representing the Ogiek, but used to highlight issues of the needy of this country. He passed on at only 35 years. Hon. Speaker, my prayer is that the youth of the Ogiek community be remembered in this nation because he was the first Member of Parliament from that community. We know the devil has killed him. • 11 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I stand to support the Petition. The five people who came from India should have been quarantined for 14 days. The Indian or Delta variant is dangerous. I do not know why the people of Kibos Sugar Factory just left those people to roam about. That variant was transferred to Nandi County by somebody who is a tailor. He went to Nandi Hills and he was sick there. Sixteen or fifteen people from Nandi County, where I come from, got the variant from Kisumu. We really need to take care of our people when go outside the country. ... view
