Mundigi deserves our attention and that of the Committee on Education because this is a policy decision the Government has played ping-pong on a number of occasions. Previously in 2015, there was a directive that in the interest of saving taxpayers’ money, because school teachers were buying books at exaggerated amounts, a centralized procurement system be put in place. It made a lot of sense then, but Kenyans are never short of lofty words when they want to engineer procurement projects for the sole intention of fleecing taxpayers’ money.
