  • 16 Nov 2023 in Senate: As you are aware, consideration of the regular business of the Senate last week was suspended owing to the consideration of the proposed removal from office, by way of impeachment, of the Governor of Meru County in plenary, on Tuesday, 7th November, 2023 and Wednesday 8th, November, 2023. It was quickly followed by Address by His Excellency the President to both Houses of Parliament in the National Assembly. Thereafter, regular sittings of the Senate resumed on Tuesday 14th November, 2023. As such, the Senate needs to complete the pending legislative business as indicated in today’s Order Paper at Order Nos.9 ... view

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have been in this House for a while and there is something I must celebrate about the committees that we have presently. Hardly do we have Petitions concluded within 60 days. Nonetheless, I have seen it happen a number of times in this term of the Senate. In that regard, I wish to congratulate the various committees that have been able to achieve that very rare feat.
