It is, therefore, paramount that Standing Committees consider these Petitions in a timely manner and table reports pursuant to the Standing Orders. As far as Statements are concerned, there are eight Statements made under Standing Order No.52(1) and 133 Statements sought under Standing Order No.53(1). In the ‘Lower’ House, when they invite Cabinet Secretaries, I always see Members of both side of the House.
