• 9 Mar 2023 in Senate: The salient issues raised in the Petition are as follows- (1) That the British Colonial Government forcefully took away the Kipsigis ancestral land during the colonial period- (a) There was no compensation to the Kipsigis Community for the land taken for settlement by the British. Instead, the Kipsigis people became squatters and forced to provide cheap labour to the British settlers.
