  • 28 Jul 2020 in Senate: The only challenge that I would like to pose to Sen. (Dr.) Langat as he joins this Committee with the approval of the House is that he should ensure that their reports are turned into actions. They should not just become reports that fill up and gather dust in the Houses of Parliament. The Senate colleagues have requested on many occasions - and this is a request that I had personally made to the Chairperson who has resigned - that the Senate be furnished with all the expenditure that various county governments have used. Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is in ... view
  • 28 Jul 2020 in Senate: I mean that Sen. (Dr.) Langat will always pray for this country, on top of the Senate prayer in the course of--- That is not to say that Sen. Sakaja is not a prayerful man; he is a Christian as I am. view

  • 21 Jul 2020 in Senate: I am guided, Madam Temporary Speaker. Thank you for this opportunity. I rise to support this Statement by Sen. Khaniri. It raises very fundamental issues of the challenges that our country continues to face. I will quickly move on to further request the Committee on the COVID-19 Situation in Kenya, that we formed in this House, to look into all the emerging issues as we handle this pandemic as a country. Madam Temporary Speaker, of late we have been receiving updates of all the things that the Ministry of Health is doing. It will be of interest to this House ... view
  • 21 Jul 2020 in Senate: Therefore, at the next meeting, if not individual Senators, at least invite Members of the Committee on the COVID-19 Situation in Kenya who can give an actual and true reflection of the status of things in various counties. With those many remarks, I support. view
  • 14 Jul 2020 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, kindly use your discretion. If you want to keep the number of interventions at four, then you should reduce on the time, so that every Member has a minute or two. The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate. view
  • 14 Jul 2020 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Statement by our colleague Sen. Kihika. A government that has no regard for the poor and downtrodden has no business being in power. The current administration has continuously shown its total disregard and disdain for the poor, especially those who live along this region. On many occasions, we have invited this particular CS to come to this House and give a justifiable explanation why the KFS continues to meet the kind of injustices that he passes on to these citizens. However, on all the occasions, times without number, there is ... view
  • 13 Jul 2020 in Senate: On a point of order, Madam Deputy Speaker. I have a point of order that I require your guidance on regarding this process. It just has to do with the procedure that this whole exercise has taken. Earlier on last week, the Speaker gave directions in our Kamukunji that if Senators have proposals on how they want the Senate to resolve this particular issue, it is in order that they forward their proposals to his office. I have seen the same have been channeled to the Order Paper. That sets an extremely dangerous precedence. We know that this House works ... view
