Mr. Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this chance. First of all, I wish to congratulate Nyeri County Assembly for work well done. I consider them and rank them along other county assemblies and some of the things that we see are brought to us for those of us who sit in the Committee on Finance, Commerce and Budget. We get to read some of the petitions and you get the sense that this is a county assembly that is serious with the work that it does. However, the matters that are before us are grave and serious. Thank you, Mr. Speaker Sir, for giving me this chance. From the very onset I would also like to make it clear that I am opposed to this Motion. I do so with clear reasons. This morning when I was watching one of our local channels, one of the distinguished panelists who were discussing the topic, proposed that as a way of the country moving forward and our political process, that given a chance, he would abolish the Senate. I further listened to his argument and I could clearly understand that he suffers from what I have seen so many ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, this is a serious matter. The nature of the response that we have received from the question raised, alludes to what the Senator for Kwale County had mentioned. He talked of people considering the House as a plastic snake that only scares but does not bite. This Committee took a lot of time. I had an opportunity to study the report and its recommendations. It is unfortunate that we are being taken round in circles when we seek information on the status of implementation. It shows that the scandal bedeviling Kenya Airways is bigger than Goldenberg ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, “empathize” is the right word. I empathize with Kenyans whose money is being squandered in this institution. We should get a proper response to this statement.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is a serious matter. One of the reasons I have risen to add my voice on this issue is that Chesumei, the village from where these children disappeared is next to my county. The following week after the children disappeared, similar cases have been reported in areas like Bureti and parts of my county. When I observe the casual nature in which this matter is being handled and the response that we are receiving - being told that we should give the Ministry two more weeks – we realize that there is a problem. We have ...
