• 22 May 2025 in Senate: The dumpsite has been a long-standing source of public concern who continue to suffer the effects of mismanagement waste disposal, including improper handling of hazardous and medical waste. In 2020, the Senate received a Petition from Wajir residents seeking intervention. The responsible Committee processed the Petition and tabled a report which recommended environmental restoration and protection of the rights to the affected communities. view
• 22 May 2025 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, Wajir Municipality depends on shallow wells as a source of water. The water table is also high and any mismanagement of waste normally filters into the wells. There are no proper sewage systems and, therefore, most of the wells are polluted and have already been confirmed to have high E.coli presence. view

• 14 May 2025 in Senate: Crisis affecting the County Assembly of Nyamira laid on the Table of the Senate on Thursday, 17th April, 2025. Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Senate Standing Committee on Devolution and Intergovernmental Relations has reported a long-standing dispute of the County Assembly of Nyamira that allegedly split the Assembly into two factions.
