23 Aug 2007 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, with regard to the Auctioneers Act, we had a meeting with the two conflicting auctioneers associations. Having consulted with them, we have been made to understand that they have now agreed that only one association will exist. So, the amendment proposed by the Attorney-General is no longer valid. We shall be proposing to delete it so that there is no mushrooming of new auctioneers' bodies. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the three hon. Members, who have spoken so far, elaborated why the proposals made by our Committee and the Attorney General would be August 23, ...

16 Aug 2007 in National Assembly:
I am surprised that the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs, who I highly respect, would come and say that the Government is tired and is not able to work. My Committee on the Fiscal Management Bill and the Appropriation Bill has written to the Vice-President and Minister for Home Affairs to beg him to allow us to discuss and hold the Third Reading of that very important Bill. If the Government is tired, we are not. We would like to remain. I have been coming to the House for the last two weeks to give the Report of the ...

8 Aug 2007 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, whereas I would like to thank the Assistant Minister for his attempt to answer this Question, I am disappointed that he was not able to answer the Question correctly because we have already had reports that five Kenyans have so far died of jigger infestation, as a cause of them not being able to fend for themselves. But nonetheless, the international community is starting to generate income funding for the fight against jigger infestation. In fact, there is a big programme with the Kenya Red Cross currently fighting jigger infestation in Bungoma. Is it that the Ministry ...

8 Aug 2007 in National Assembly:
On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Mau Forest is an internationally known water catchment area. So, for the Questioner to say that this Question should be re-directed to the Ministry of Regional Development Authorities is missing the point. Conservation is rightly in the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources. Is he in order?
