I think it is, certainly, an important step forward. Those positions are filled by a very transparent process that is open to everyone. Advertisements are put up for every Kenyan to apply. view

• 30 Apr 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, on Wednesday the 18th February this year, the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) on Constitutional Review tabled a list for nomination of the Chairman and members of the Interim Independent Electoral Commission (IIEC). On the 19th February, following debate, that matter was referred back to the Committee, following reservations by this House on a number of members of that Commission.
