  • 11 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving this opportunity. At the outset, I support the Report of the Committee with a few reservations. view
  • 11 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, from my observations, environmental issues are very important. The suggestion by one of the speakers, the Member for Mavoko, about who came first, is not an issue. You might have been there since independence but if you are contributing to the damage on the environment then that's a serious matter. We do not take that issue lightly. The fact that we are damaging the environment means it will affect us globally. This is a global village and we might be marked for not taking care of the environment very well. The policies we have might be ... view
  • 3 Aug 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government the following Question: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary provide an update on the alleged abduction and subsequent disappearance of Mr. Bashow Yussuf Mohamed of ID No.27478661 and Mr. Salah Muhumed Hassan of ID No.21860349, by unknown persons suspected to be police officers, given that they have been missing since early 2021? The disappearance has caused immense psychological suffering to their friends, family and the wider Tarbaj Constituency? (ii) What is the status of investigations into the disappearance of the two persons ... view
  • 29 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: It is Gaal. You can pronounce it as girl, or whichever is easier for you. view
  • 29 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Yes, but pronunciation is similar with that of girl. view
  • 29 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: No, I am not. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. At the outset, I support the Report of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, let me raise some of these suggestions. We always talk about expenditure. We are talking about scanners and employment of staff. Let me not be misunderstood to be meaning that these things are not important. They are very important because, as we know and as we were told by the Committee, when scanners were invested in Namanga, besides Malaba being busier, we were able to ... view
  • 24 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman for giving me this opportunity. This particular clause is very important. I support it because this problem is prevalent in county governments. Most statutory deductions they collect are not remitted to the relevant authorities. It is important that interest is charged and they do not repeat these mistakes. I support. view
  • 23 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. At the outset, I support this Bill, that is, the Kenya National Blood Transfusion Service Bill, 2020. The nature of Africans is that they have the willingness to assist. When it comes to, for example, blood and water, they are more than willing to assist, generally. However, what we are lacking… I believe we would have even reached the 500,000 units which we require annually, if only there could have been better co-ordination. In relation to the Kenya National Blood Transfusion Service, if they were better in mobilisation, education ... view
  • 22 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Finance Bill of 2021 with its amendments. Let me also thank the Committee for doing a good job with its able leadership of Hon. Wanga. Let me take this early opportunity to condole with my colleague and friend, Hon. Hassan Hulufo, for losing six members of this constituency. We condemn such kinds of acts. It is very wrong. Money which would have been spent on useful development projects is now spent on security, which is wrong. In addition, as colleagues from the pastoral community, we ... view
  • 22 Jun 2021 in National Assembly: Last but not least is the issue of informers to assess tax evasion and its implementation. I think the KRA should be careful so that people will not use that law and attack their business rivals. If an amendment is not there, it should be brought to ensure that any person who brings false information on tax, is fined. I support the Bill. view
