Amina Abdalla

Amina has been nominated to the House more than any other politician. Her first employment was in 1993 at GTZ a German government development agency, through which she was involved in rescue work at Daadab Refugee camp in North Eastern Kenya. Her mobilization skills granted her favour with donors, and as a result the World Conservation Union employed her as a regional coordinator. In 2002 she took leave of absence from her work place to campaign for Uhuru Kenyatta, the person she owes her three nominations to parliament. Amina who is an environmental scientist encourages women to invest in political parties and explore avenues of owning them.

  • 7 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. I would like to join my colleagues in congratulating Gor Mahia FC for their win and to agree with hon. Sumra that those of us in Nairobi are the owners of that team. They are not based in Homa Bay and those of us who grew up in Eastlands we sang Gor biro yawne yoo on behalf of their own. view

  • 7 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: So, for you to claim them is to be fraudulent in your claims. Having said that, I just wanted to follow up with what the Leader of Majority Party has said about the business of next week. Most of us are from constituencies that hold wildlife and the Wildlife Bill will be on the Order Paper next week. I think it will be very good for you to go through the Committee’s Report. view
  • 7 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: We have had extensive interactions with stakeholders and we need to move that agenda forward next week. Thank you very much. view
  • 7 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. My good friend, hon. Jakoyo can never speak and I fail to respond. He urged the companies not to sponsor their own internal teams but other external teams. As you know, charity begins at home, and since he knows what I am talking about, he needs to urge Jakom and his company Spectre to sponsor a team. Thank you. • 5 Nov 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. I want to confirm to the Member that the Minister had already confirmed to us that, that aquifer was discovered but I will ask her to give us what plan they have, considering the short time between when she announced the discovery and now. So, I will ask the Cabinet Secretary to provide whatever plans they have and we will be able to give them to you in a week’s time. view
  • 30 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I was responding to the hon. Member who has requested a Statement. I want to tell the hon. Member what we are planning to do. I am sorry that the hon. Member was my former councilor. So, I know him by his street name as “hon. Buda”. I do not have his official name. view
