  • 2 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Hon. Deputy Speaker. view
  • 2 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I hope it is going to be peaceful. We take the word of Hon. Ng’eno. We are going home for this short recess. I do not think we are entirely happy as one of my colleagues here was trying to suggest. You cannot say that Jubilee has done very well and Kenyans are very happy; mothers are giving birth in hospitals without being charged when there are no doctors! Doctors are not at work in public hospitals to ensure service delivery. Where are the public hospitals that those mothers are giving birth to babies free ... view
  • 2 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: ensuring that Kenyans are protected! This Member who is here is enjoying because she joined Jubilee. She is praising Jubilee and even has the guts to talk about mothers delivering babies for free in hospitals and yet, we know doctors are not there. The children are dying! The newspapers today have reported that some babies have died in hospital because they were not attended to. Is this what we want to praise? It is very unfortunate. We need to work together because we are all leaders. The Government has the resources to do this work. view
  • 2 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: So, I agree with Members who have said that as we go into recess, we need to ensure that we conduct meetings of peace in our respective constituencies. That way, we shall be preaching peace to our people. With those few remarks, I thank you. view
  • 1 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, I support this proposed amendment because if it were to happen the way it was proposed earlier, it is likely to cause confusion. Prison officers carrying out police duties continuously when they have their specific mandate for rehabilitation and preservation of convicts will cause unnecessary confusion. So, I support this amendment on that account. view
  • 1 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, it was not clear earlier and I had intended to withhold my support for this proposed amendment. But in view of the explanation, I wish to support the proposed amendment. I would like to stress this fact: Let the market be broadened; but not for a few investors. Let the other Kenyans also benefit from this. view
  • 1 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. On some of these amendments which are brought to do with investors, the Leader of the Majority Party should explain how this is going to benefit other Kenyans. Is it just for people building vehicles? How are the ordinary Kenyans going to benefit from this amendment? view
  • 1 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I also rise to oppose this proposed amendment. First, it amounts to a substantive amendment that will affect all Kenyans through a miscellaneous amendments Bill. This should have been brought as a substantive amendment through some Bill. Let me explain. The Leader of the Majority seems to be excited, I do not know why. I oppose this amendment on that particular ground that the citizens will lose. You cannot say it is the opposite, Jakoyo. It is not. It affects Kenyans and you have told this Member very well. Withdraw this amendment. view
  • 22 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I support the proposed amendment. As you are aware, the SRC, in its activities, has been causing a lot of confusion even for us here in Parliament and other institutions. Doctors and university lecturers are on strike yet the SRC has not been firm enough to even correct the situations.
