  • 9 Jan 2013 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, this is the second time we are having this list. Previously, it was rejected. Now it has come back with improvements and corrections. I want to support the Motion because TSC has not had a chairman for quite some time now. The Act was passed and this House knows that TSC has a very big challenge. We have a shortage of teachers in every county to the tune of 60,000. Now that the evidence has been given to the Principals and they have forwarded to us the names of the commissioners and the chairperson to ... view
  • 11 Dec 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has said that he is opposing the Motion. He has also indicated that there is no quorum. Is he in order? view
  • 8 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, arising from the answer given by the Assistant Minister, he has not committed the Government or his Ministry because by saying “when the funds are available” and they have not factored them in the Budget, it means there is no commitment. We are getting to the examination season next term and most of the DEOs and county directors have no vehicles. Could he give an assurance that he will provide enough vehicles for our DEOs and county directors to manage the examinations appropriately? view
  • 31 Jul 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, if you listened to the Minister, you will appreciate that he has not answered part (c) of the Question. Could he confirm whether there are illegal allottees and developers who have taken the land that should have been used for the construction of the by-pass road? view
  • 30 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I stand to support the amendment and the Motion by highlighting a few points. A few months ago, I raised a Question in this Parliament on the same coffee plantations and I am glad the Minister who answered my Question is here. It is in consideration of the small-scale tea farmers whom we represent and who suffer in the process of supporting the economy of this country. This Motion has come at the right time. The coffee and tea small-scale farmers need support from the Government. We need to request the Government to subsidize ... view
  • 30 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: Having said that, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, if we are supported to add value, subsidize our crops, educate our farmers on good use of finances, we shall improve our economy. view
  • 30 Nov 2011 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I support the amendment on the Motion. view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Could the Assistant Minister resume his seat? view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. view
  • 6 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, you have heard the Assistant Minister call youths idlers. This Government is fighting unemployment, and it is also the responsibility of the Government to provide Kenyans with security and not harassment. If these youths do business, why does the Government not provide them with a shed, or a place for them to carry out their business instead of calling them idlers? Is he in order to call Kenyans idlers? view
