Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for that consideration. Actually, there are issues that the Chair raised. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, you must have heard the Chair saying that the ministry did not go out there for public participation. This is a very serious omission and I am sure if this would have been The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only. First, I thank Hon. Sossion for bringing this Adjournment Motion. Given the interest that Hon. Sossion still has in the education sector, I appeal to the teachers listening to me to let him continue to serve them as the Secretary General of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) so that he continues to represent the education sector in this Parliament.

Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, we are discussing this because we lost our children yesterday. Leaders, especially from the Ministry, have offered Kshs10 million for construction of a public school because they overlooked what they should have done while regulating the education sector. I wish the Departmental Committee on Education and Research sat down to investigate the officers and if possible, recommend some to be sacked because we are currently talking about one school among 1,000 schools. We are not talking about the others because we have not lost ...

In the same breath, I saw the media running pictures of some students learning under trees. We, Members of Parliament, who oversee the committees which develop schools are being unfair to the public. We must use the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) properly so as to take care of learners because children learning under a tree can be infected by many diseases acquired in a very unsuitable environment. Therefore, I wish the Committee…

Mine is different, Hon. Speaker. I am happy that you have pushed forward Question No.397 that was meant to be raised by Hon. Gichimu Githinji. I have seen on the Order Paper that this Question is referred to the CS for Education. I request that as we wait for Hon. Gichimu to come, we need to review whether this should be referred to the CS for Education or the CS for Water and Irrigation. I am a Member of the Departmental Committee on Environment and Natural Resources. I have a very strong feeling that this Question should be handled by ...

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise under Standing Order No. 42D(a), on unanswered Questions. Early in the year, I rose in my place to ask Question No. 089/2019 that I directed to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The Question, from the records that I have, was forwarded to the DPP by a letter written by Mrs. Serah Kioko. Later on, the answer having not been brought forth, I rose again on this point to ask why the answer had not been brought to the Floor or even given to me. You gave an order and from that order, the ...
