  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me opportunity to second this Procedural Motion and thank the Leader of the Majority Party for moving it. We had exhaustively discussed this in HBC and agreed that we should stay away especially on 2nd May, because of the State of the Nation Address. • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, with the current historical handshake, we expect to have a full House because all Members from both sides will be in attendance. We also expect that all the Senators from both sides will be in attendance. Therefore, it is important that we prepare for that day because the current sitting space that we have in this Chamber might not be enough. It is important that we give time to the staff of Parliament to prepare for the afternoon session. view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: I do not want to go on side shows. You have seen how interesting the conference in Kakamega is. I was there yesterday and there is a lot of security in Kakamega Town and more specifically at Golf Hotel where this action took place. view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I just want to urge the Members that we finalise with this Motion before we have interjections. view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, with all those interruptions, I want Members to be careful when they talk about Kakamega. view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, even in the video, the way it was recorded, the people were talking in Kikuyu. The people in Kakamega do not speak Kikuyu. They speak Luhya or Kiswahili if they want to communicate. view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Before I second, we the people of Kakamega County and Western in general are very disappointed with people who are bringing their own characters from out there with the women. Even that lady was not a Luhya. view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: We do not want foreign behaviour to be brought in Kakamega. Hon. Deputy Speaker, I wish to second. view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I just wanted to inform my counterpart on the Minority side that I was there yesterday. According to the CoG, they have not even planned that any Member of Parliament can be in attendance of that meeting. I was there and left Kakamega at 11.00 O’clock without an accreditation card. It is true, just the way Hon. Junet is saying, the money they are supposed to be collecting as taxes from the counties is not being collected. They are depending on the money that we appropriate in this House. How can we just be locked ... view
  • 25 Apr 2018 in National Assembly: I wanted to conclude by seeking leave for us as a House to debate this and see how relevant these conferences are. They cost a lot of money. view
