  • 26 Feb 2020 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. You have made a ruling that debate will purely be on legal matters. That surprises me because the debate is much wider. Some of us are residents of Nairobi and we have suffered. view
  • 26 Feb 2020 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is not about politics, but services. view
  • 26 Feb 2020 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the chance to contribute to this Motion on the Floor. As a Nairobian, and a Nairobian leader, I would like from the outset to say that I am very happy with what happened yesterday. I think it was long overdue; they should have done it much earlier and saved the people of Nairobi from suffering. view
  • 26 Feb 2020 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the essence of devolution was to bring services closer to the people. However, what has ended up happening in our City of Nairobi is that there have been no services at all because nothing – absolutely no functions – were happening. That has been in the Press and everywhere else; everybody knows that. We, who live completely in Nairobi, know the situation and how much Nairobi has changed. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, Nairobi, as has been said by many people, is not any other city, but the capital City and pride of Kenya. We now have ... view

What I know is that laws are made for the comfort of the people and not for the people to suffer. What has happened now is good for the ... view
  • 18 Feb 2020 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to support this important Petition. I add my voice in congratulating the Senator for Lamu County. I watched him last night and I almost cried. I could see the pain in his eyes. Those of us who really saw this segment, which the Senator very proudly presented, lack words to express what we saw. There is no hospital there. It is very unfortunate that we saw patients there since there is nothing that looks like a hospital. It was terribly dirty; the bathrooms, toilets, beddings, and every other thing. I ... view
  • 10 Feb 2020 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity. I also mourn this great son of Kenya and Africa. I had the privilege of watching the happenings that time from a close distance. I watched the former vice President work with the then founding President. I say without any fear of contradiction that he was a dignified and humble vice President to the founding President. There is no time you could hear any controversy between them. That was one way of putting the country together. It was a sad day when we learnt about the death of former President ... view
  • 10 Feb 2020 in Senate: The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate. view
  • 10 Feb 2020 in Senate: We will remember former President Moi for his continued call for peace and unity in our country which held us together for many years when other countries were going through war. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. view
  • 14 Nov 2019 in Senate: On a point of information, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir. view
