• 15 Sep 2015 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Chair and find out whether there is indeed a different set of policy for issuance of IDs in north eastern Kenya from those policies that are used in the rest of the country. I want the Chairman to clarify because if you want an ID today; the process used in north eastern Kenya, some of which are areas of Jubilee unlike what my colleagues said, you literally go there with your parents and they should demonstrate that they are your parents and their fingerprints are required. With all due respect to the Chair, I think it would be unfair for the Speaker to give that kind of view because north eastern is in Kenya. There is no country without a border in this world yet they are examined in the same way the rest are examined and they are not discriminated against. Indeed, Makueni has been our Achilles heel as an institution that is mandated to protect the interests of counties. If a company has been found culpable and their licence is revoked, how is it that the directors of those companies can be above suspicion and they have not been arrested by now?
