9 Jun 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have two issues that I would want the Minister to clarify. The first one is that there is now peace in the Kerio Valley. Insecurity is what hindered him from going to Chesuma Location of Marakwet District, in the Kerio Valley. Now peace has come. When will he send adjudication officers to sub-divide the same land? Secondly, the Minister has now been made to understand that adjudication in

Thank you very much, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. I am grateful for being given this opportunity. Squatters in Kenya have suffered a lot. Those Kenyans who have no land--- It is not right! It is actually those who have been frustrated by the rich and those who have been in power for a long time. Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, the words---

14 May 2009 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Ministry of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security on inhuman eviction of Marakwets from Cherangani Hill Forest. The Ministerial Statement I am seeking is based on a meeting held on 4th April, 2009. In that meeting, we reached an agreement that those people will leave the forest. Some of them have title deeds for their pieces of land. Some of them settled in that forest way back in 1910. I would like him to table a copy of the minutes of ...

12 May 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, while I appreciate what the Assistant Minister has said but I think the Ministry of Agriculture is not serious with pyrethrum. My Question has two parts, âaâ and âbâ. In âaâ I wanted to know how much money PBK owes farmers in Marakwet District. Secondly, since this is the only cash crop in Marakwet District, what measures has the Government taken to assist farmers to recover from the economic losses that they have incurred.

12 May 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to know from the Assistant Minister why this has been a fertile place for looters. This parastatal has been a place where all looters have been going to collect money. What steps does the Government intend to take to make farmers benefit from their own sweat?

On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. After hon. Members have contributed, it appears they are going to one direction. I feel the mood of the House is that the mover be called upon to reply.

18 Feb 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Speaker, Sir, this answer is not satisfying. The Kerio Valley has seven rivers flowing into Lake Turkana. The Assistant Minister would have convinced me by stating how much money has actually been allocated in the current financial year for this project, so that they can be looking for other funds as implementation of the project continues.
