  • 25 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also wish to raise my concern because a number of Members have made it a habit to address the media and state things which they cannot substantiate and that cannot be proved in any court of law. It is important that we need to have a hearing and a substantive sitting on this matter, so that we can bring it to a stop. view
  • 25 Jun 2020 in National Assembly: We have colleagues in this House who have a habit of saying things both in the mass and social media and addressing press conferences on false allegations, which cannot be substantiated and end up maligning names of their colleagues. We should deal with that. One matter is that of the SGR. We must bring it to a conclusion, so that the people who peddle lies, take advantage to play partisan politics with CSs and Principal Secretaries and other individuals are punished. The Powers and Privileges Committee should take action against Members who take advantage of their colleagues by calling them ... view

I thank God for you, the leadership of this House, Members of Parliament, and my good brothers and sisters for the support you accorded me when I was away. I also thank the people of Laikipia for being patient with me to continue doing the noble job of “ kuongeza kura ”. Speaker, pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Budget and Appropriations Committee regarding delay in disbursement of National Government Affirmative Action Fund. I rise to ask Question 469/2019 to the CS for Health: (i) Could the Cabinet Secretary explain why the country is experiencing shortages of Nevirapine, a drug used to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS? (ii) What steps is the Ministry taking to safeguard the lives of new-born babies, who are at a threat of contracting the HIV virus and are highly dependent on this drug? • 30 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I do not take it for granted. Allow me to congratulate Hon. Lentoimaga. He has been our Chair for a long period. I am not making reference to what happened yesterday between Hon. Didmus Barasa and Hon. Kaluma. Informally, he has been able to bring the region together. We have been discussing the NPRs. There has been progress. When you see this Hon. Member rise to debate issues of NPRs, there is something as a region we are backing and that requires us to formalise the process of making sure we ... view

  • 30 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Yesterday we met over a cup of tea. He told me that they have lost a number of livestock –25 cows in particular, and over a cup of tea they were returned to Samburu County. What I am trying to say is that the issues which have been raised by Hon. Lentoimaga are matters that cannot wait. They need to be debated and supported by the Committee in charge so that the Ministry effectively implements what we agree on this afternoon. Thank you. view
