  • 5 Jan 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chair, I just want to add my voice to what Hon. Duale has said and say that this is the first time I have seen politicians passing a law that is preparing a rope that will hang them in the future. I have no doubt with my 20 years’ experience that the law we have passed today will be the biggest impediment for your future, going forward. When you listen to Hon. Junet, who knows he has control over the party he belongs to, you are being naïve. You will look for Junet, he will not be ... view
  • 5 Jan 2022 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I do not know why people are excited when I am given the microphone. Let me have my time, you will have yours. view
  • 5 Jan 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady, the reason I am asking for your protection is that when I was coming in, I almost fell down because a Sergeant-at-Arms officer snatched an envelope from me. I think the CCTV clip is available. I have to say the truth. view
  • 11 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: I thank you Hon. Deputy Speaker. We have let down the youth of this country. We are doing very poorly with our sports. Year in, year out we are always complaining about mismanagement of key sports institutions that ought to identify and nurture the talent of our youth right from the grassroots. It is a very sad affair that an institution such as FKF would misuse money meant to do exactly what I am saying. Therefore, I support the Committee on Sports, Culture and Tourism to go ahead and do their investigations because our Standing Orders mandate them to do ... view
  • 11 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: We need to show the youth that we understand them and feel them. I am not saying this with any disrespect. Mr. Aaron Ringera is a very important member of the Kenya community. However, we need to do better. I hope that this Committee will have the youth leading the youth. You can have somebody who is youthful. So, we need to do more. Finally, we have had very many investigations and inquiries with regard to key scandals across this country and they never get anywhere. We just get findings that go nowhere. We hope to see real action on ... view

  • 3 Dec 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also want to join the voice of Hon. (Dr.) Makali Mulu and congratulate Hon. Dennitah Ghati and really say that I am speaking this out of having spent quite a number of years with her, when she first came to this House as the County Woman Representative for Migori County. In addition, she was a strong champion for the rights of women. Moreover, having watched her face the tragedy of an accident and become a person living with disability. In addition, I think the most inspiring thing about Hon. Dennitah Ghati is the fact that, ... view
  • 3 Dec 2020 in National Assembly: Moreover, I think that gives us a chance to really realise that being a person living with disability does not mean that you must have been born with that disability. It will catch up with you at any time in your life and, therefore, it is important that we take care of everybody knowing that anybody can be in that state. Hon. Speaker, I have no doubt that Hon. Ghati has what it takes really to be able to champion the rights of persons living with disability in Kenya and in Africa. We know her passion and I want to ... view
  • 3 Dec 2020 in National Assembly: Therefore, it means that he is able to see beyond whatever challenges one may face. Therefore, let us call a spade a spade and let us appreciate that he is a person who appreciates the people who add value to his party and to this country. With those many remarks, I beg to support. view
  • 3 Dec 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. Today is one of my happiest days as an MP because we have managed to walk a very long walk on the Tea Bill. I know that, as a Departmental Committee on Agriculture and Livestock and by extension the entire House, we have done what is right for this country and tea farmers. I want to, in a special way; coming from a county and constituency where tea farming is key, thank the Government for taking a lot of interest in tea. I particularly thank Hon. Peter Munya, the ... view
