There was hue and cry by the sugar cane farmers with the arbitrary lowering per tonne of selling the sugar cane. view

• 24 Apr 2024 in Senate: The sugar pricing committee is critical. When you look at the Bill as is proposed, we will ensure that the interests of farmers are well catered for and not only on pricing. For example, thanks to his Excellency, the President for providing subsidized fertilizer, it has become easy for farmers to produce more tonnage. This goes a long way to ensure that the representative of the pricing committee and the board becomes easier. view
