  • 3 May 2023 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, even the way you sit on that seat and with your beard, you look like a man full of wisdom. Looking at the hat that you put on, in fact, you should be the Chairman of the Njuri Ncheke and not just a member. view
  • 3 May 2023 in Senate: Still on the issue of headquarters, you cannot say the reason Kathwana is not the county headquarters is because there is no accommodation since all the senior public officers want to stay in five-star hotels in Kathwana. If we want the town to grow, we must be deliberate. They are saying that the DCI and other Government agencies will require offices. We must be deliberate and ensure that the headquarters moves from Chuka to Kathwana which is gazetted. view

  • 3 May 2023 in Senate: How can we ensure that Kathwana develops as the county headquarters of Tharaka Nithi if the County Commissioner, the DCI, and other people do not want to move there, simply because there is no running water and no five-star hotels? The only way to develop this country is to allow places like Kathwana be what it has been gazetted. • 3 May 2023 in Senate: I want Kenyans to get this straight. When they say it in public rallies, we do not care because those are stories and gossip. The money that will go to the counties is Kshs385 billion that was assented to by the President. We will have an additional Kshs15 billion going to the counties. However, the challenge we have in this country--- view
  • 3 May 2023 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, thank you for this opportunity. I have a supplementary question just for your consumption in your office. However, Madam Temporary Speaker, in future when we ask a question that the CS does not have a specific answer, you should give direction on what happens to that question. Does it fall by the wayside, will we get a written response or will the CS will respond the next time he or she appears? This is just for your guidance and for the future. We also have cases where we ask questions on a matter that is live and ... view

  • 3 May 2023 in Senate: Quickly into my supplementary question; how many counties have a problem with titling around their borders? For example, between Taita Taveta and Machakos counties and Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties. Secondly, how many Kenyans across counties are waiting to get their title deeds and how many have been issued so far? Specifically, how many people from Nandi County are awaiting their title deeds? It is the business of any CS to know what is happening in the country. That is their job. With all due respect, this issue of saying that the CS came here and might not be aware ... view
