Kinyua, but because we wanted a resolution, we thought that this was the best route. On my behalf and that of the people of Nandi County, I pass our deepest condolences. Our prayers and thoughts are with the people of Laikipia during these hard times.   • 9 Sep 2021 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, Article 238 of the Constitution is on principles of national security. This matter should have been treated with the attention that it deserves. I would have expected the Cabinet Secretary (CS) of Interior and Coordination of National Government and the Inspector-General to be on the ground, not just the reservists, so that they can assist our people. Our people are in distress and are suffering. view

  • 9 Sep 2021 in Senate: Listening to Sen. Kinyua, yesterday we had reports that the bandits were shooting their guns a few metres from where the Regional Commissioner was hold his meeting. The only thing that the reservists and the Government has told us that they are using M16 guns as opposed to the Kalashnikov 47 riffles. view

  • 9 Sep 2021 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, I agree that we have a problem. When you look at Article 29 of the Constitution, there is the freedom of security of a person. The freedom of these people has been violated. When you look at Article 40, there is the protection of right to property. However, property have been taken away in clear violation of the law. view
