Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. From the onset, on behalf of the people of Nandi County and my family, I take this opportunity to condole with the family of my brother, my learned senior, the late Sen. (Dr.) Boniface Mutinda Kabaka. He was a great man. I remember when were in Senate Mashinani, with your permission, you allowed us to go and address Nandi County Assembly. He was a sharp brilliant legal mind, a man who was always smiling, generous at heart and engagement. He was somebody who would not look down on people. I want to extend our deepest ...

someone is sick, they have an opportunity of being treated. The health workers do not have PPEs. Those are challenges that we must fix in our healthcare system. May the soul of our colleague rest in peace. We wish the family and the great people of Machakos County God’s fortitude to bear this loss. We are praying for them in this time of mourning. Since you put me in the Committee on the issue of the late MP of Kabuchai Consitutency, Hon. Lusweti, allow me to also extend my condolences to the family in Kabuchai and Bungoma, to you and ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, just a brief one. I think my learned senior, the Attorney General emeritus should have followed the thought of questioning. If I heard correctly, the counsel for the Governor was questioning just before at the level of the County Assembly. He was not questioning at the tail-end why it is here. It is important that we also follow, so that we do not get misled. Thank you.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, the implication of that is that they will have to stand down the witness as of now, so that when we have those copies and that information sufficiently available to us, it will be easy to refer to as the Counsel of the Governor will be prosecuting that matter. I think it will mean that you need to stand down the witness as at now, so that we can proceed tomorrow.

Madam Deputy Speaker, earlier on, you had ruled that any witness that appears before us must constrain himself or herself within what has been provided before us. We are not interested in gerrymandering or any other issues outside the ambit that has been provided. The ruling has been made; the precedent is in your sit. You had directed that anything that comes out before this must---

Madam Deputy Speaker, you need to protect me from this gender activist. You had ruled and there is a precedent, that you must constrain yourself within what you are provided for either in evidence or in affidavit. Do not go outside that ambit because you are involving us in a rat race.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, since Sen. Sakaja has shown interest in working during the festive season or during Christmas, it has to be noted that the employees have not been paid since November 2019. I request that even during the recess period, essential services such as the ones offered by the Committee on Labour and Social Welfare should be active and allow us to proceed with this matter to conclusion. The Committee handled a similar issue in Wajir County and everybody was happy with the outcome. I would like the Committee to replicate the same in Nandi County so that we ...

I thank the petitioners for having faith in the Senate to address this. This comes at the backdrop where we were looking at the drama and machismo of the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti trying to address and record statements from victims of the post-election violence of the 2007-2008 General Election. It was sad that he was targeting to take statements from only one region; the North Rift, and yet the post-election violence happened across the country. We saw the President saying he was not aware of the same. We have to appreciate there are many IDPs either ...
