(Dr.) Musuruve, that the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Ms. Mochache said that the Government is incurring the costs of taking care of patients. She indicated that it should be Kshs1 million to take care of the patients until recovery. I do not think there is a situation which arises whereby any fees will be incurred. view

Last year, we had a similar incident where 60 lives were lost. I hope that when times comes, we will assist in one way or the other. Sen. Cheruiyot has said that there were mudslides in Tinderet Sub-County where we border with Kisumu and Kericho counties. There are many issues happening in this country. I join the rest of my colleagues in saying that extraordinary times need extraordinary measures especially at such a time. The country has taken bold steps on some of these issues. As a country, we need to put contingency plan to ensure that we arrest the spread of COVID-19, so that Kenyans are not infected or affected in one way or another.   • 12 Mar 2020 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I commend the Chairperson of the Committee on Health, Sen. (Dr.) Mbito. I am told that today is the World Kidney Day. The statistics we are seeing in the country--- Sen. Dullo was in the House. I think at least every county has a dialysis machine. According to statistics, 10 per cent of the population is suffering from either kidney complications or kidney diseases. That is around 4.8 million Kenyans and around a billion across the world.
