  • 5 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Whereas I fully support the President in his exposition of the national values, perhaps we should add three other matters that were not emphasised. The first one is war against corruption. We have spoken about it. This should also form a pillar of our agenda. view

  • 5 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: The second matter that should also be a pillar is the environment. The third one that perhaps has already been talked about is unifying Kenya. I was surprised when a Member, I think the Member for Kilifi, spoke very retrogressively about Pwani na bara. We appear to have been vindicated because momentarily, Kanze Dena was given a job. But this is not a small war. Perhaps we should benchmark and borrow a leaf from the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Mahathir Mohamad. Within a month, he has done what we have never done or attempted to do. Fifty judges are gone. ... view

  • 20 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Speaker, I support the Bill. The intention of the Bill is fairly apparent when one looks at Article 189 (2). It is unfortunate that my learned friend, Hon. T.J. Kajwang was not involved in the public participation. I sympathise because the “Chief Justice” was too engaged in some demonstrations. The Leader of the Minority Party was also unable to participate, perhaps because he was more caring about the People’s Assemblies and did not see the wisdom of this Bill. I am stating the reason you missed the public participation. Hon. Speaker, the intention of the Bill is ... view
  • 20 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: so long as some willing participants and some stakeholders are consulted. So, this Bill is long overdue. It points to the purpose for which each one of us was elected to this House. As for public good, it is one of the best Bills that will operationalise Article 189(2). Thank you, Hon. Speakers. view
  • 27 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. As I stand here, I feel very ashamed that the petition came through a lawyer. view
  • 27 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: I thank you for your wise ruling but there is one or two pertinent issues. Clearly, you have pronounced that this House should not be used as a subterfuge for irrelevancies. You have also set pace for other institutions to positively act and pronounce themselves. My colleague, Hon. Wamalwa, had thought mistakenly that this was a Jubilee issue. I can see him. There are certain pronouncements that have been made recently in Kenya. They are subversive and they cause upheavals. Those pronouncements should have attracted Ms. Bensouda way back. It is high time she also beams on Kenya to see ... view
  • 27 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: This should not be used as a House for settling scores. Certainly, Jubilee is not here to settle scores. I should not be answering this because Hon. A.B. Duale is here. However, we all know that even if I were to try to settle scores, with your very sharp eye, this would not happen. view
  • 27 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: I am again fairly grateful to that ruling and the pronouncement which is contained in it. Thank you, Hon. Speaker. view
