We also heard His Excellency the President speaking confidently about the handshake initiative between himself and Baba . There are no illusions about this initiative. The peace that is prevailing in the country is because of the handshake. It was also absolutely an opportune time for His Excellency to reassure the House that the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) is not off course and will be on course soon. Her point of order will be considered when she traces her card. I am sure her point of order is not reasonable. I am confident with the contents of the State of the Nation Address. We are on the right path to take on the Asian tigers.

Chair, Hon. Duale being interested in this is a good thing. I think the House should be a little more enthusiastic in the matters that we deal with it here. So, we cannot blame Hon. Duale for being enthusiastic. We encourage him to be even be more so. I see interests from Hon. Rasso Ali, Member for Saku.

Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 11 of the Bill be amended- (a) in sub-clause (2)(d) by inserting the words “or a reputable private institution” at the end of the paragraph; (b) by inserting the following new sub-clause immediately after sub-clause (3)- “(4) The Director-General shall be the Secretary to the Commission”. This is just inserting the words “the Director-General shall be drawn from reputable private institution” at the end of the paragraph by inserting a new sub-clause immediately thereafter, “The Director-General shall be the Secretary to the Commission”. This proposal emanated from Jamia Mosque. The ...
