Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank the Assistant Minister for that answer. However, Road D.305 is a 20-kilometre road and only Kshs3 million has been provided for its repair. Is the money for gravelling or repairing the road? Secondly, a contractor was awarded the contract to construct the road between Kesses and 4464 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES October 16, 2007 Lessos one-and-a-half years ago. The road is only 12 kilometres long and so far, only a half of the work has been done. What action will the Assistant Minister take against this contractor?

Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this Motion. I wish to thank Mr. Angwenyi for bringing this Motion. I think it is not late for this Motion to come to this House. Tea farmers have been suffering for ages. We know that our tea fetches a lot of money outside there. The problem is that we do not have enough factories. As a result of this we spend a lot of money in processing tea. I wish to request the Government that every sub-location or location should have a factory. We ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank the Minister for the answer. But what will Kshs718,282 do in pothole patching of 11 kilometres? The money is too little! This road is part of the reason why Moi University lecturers went on strike.
