  • 21 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rose on a point of order before he finished! Is he in order to say that there are companies in Kenya who are bottling water and syphoning money from Kenyans? Why can he not name those companies? Is he in order not to name them? view
  • 4 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this opportunity to contribute. view
  • 4 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, that is the right place for me to speak from, but that time will come. Let me thank you for giving me this opportunity to support this Motion which, I think, has come at the right time. I would like to commend and congratulate Mr. Weya for bringing this Motion to the august House. This Motion is long overdue and it is high time the Government brought a Bill on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in this country. Information is power and a source of wealth. What we have seen happening in so many countries ... view
  • 4 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: Sorry for that, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. That is exactly why we are discussing this Motion. This will enable the Government to prepare a Bill so that we can set aside 2230 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES July 4, 2007 funds for it. With those few remarks, I support. view

  • 29 Mar 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, while I appreciate the fact that the President's Speech had a lot of good messages to Kenyans, it leaves a lot to be desired. 278 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES March 29, 2007 This Government made a lot of promises when it came to power, but those promises have not been fulfilled. One of the issues which I want to tackle is the issue of recruitment in the various sectors. For example, in the education sector, young men and women who have graduated from our teacher-training colleges have not been recruited. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the skills ... view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Having seen the popularity of this Motion and there being no Members to contribute, and we are repeating ourselves, would I be in order to ask that the Mover be now called upon to reply? view
  • 21 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. The Minister is talking from a point of ignorance. We all know that when somebody is employed, he will retire one day. Why is it taking a long time by saying that documents must be submitted when we know the year an employed person will go into retirement. Why is it taking a long time to process the pension? view
  • 16 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Education:- (a) how many secondary schools in Marakwet District are understaffed and what plans he has to address this problem; and, (b) whether he could consider employing all the secondary school trained teachers from the district in order to meet the shortfall. view
