  • 16 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, arising from the answer the Assistant Minister has given to this House, and given that he is about to graduate to be a professor and knowing the benefits of education, could he employ more teachers to teach students in Marakwet? There is no point of training teachers without absorbing them. The Assistant Minister has said that there is no money. The money is there. They should employ more teachers immediately. view
  • 16 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, this Government was elected on the platform of zero-tolerance to corruption. However, the Government is still appointing more Assistant Ministers. Why can they not use that money to employ more secondary school teachers? view
  • 1 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Administration and National Security:- (a) whether he is aware that the level of insecurity in Kapsowar has risen in the past six months due to inadequate security personnel; and, (b) what plans are there to address the situation. view
  • 1 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Mr. Deputy Speaker. It was due to the unexpected rains which made me to be late and I asked Mr. Chepkitony to ask you to postpone the Question for only two minutes and I will be there. view
  • 1 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for seeing me at last. We all know that the HIV/AIDS scourge is causing insecurity in this country. This is because those who are infected are shooting their "bullets" on innocent people. In so doing, they are causing insecurity--- view
  • 1 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: No, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I am talking about this Question. In my view, HIV/AIDS pandemic is causing a lot of insecurity. Those infected in our midst are spreading it. The Government should take it very seriously because young people are dying in large numbers. view
  • 1 Nov 2006 in National Assembly: When will this Government provide these young people with funds to reduce the rate of infection? When one is infected, he loses hope in life. view
  • 20 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to ask the Minister for Roads and 2242 Public Works the following Question by Private Notice. (a) Is the Minister aware that Road C48 which passes through Cheborowa, Tenden and Kapcherop centres is impassable owing to the current rainy season and failure to gravel the road for a long time? (b) What immediate steps is he taking to repair the road and make it passable? view
  • 20 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, now that the Assistant Minister has been made aware that some sections of that road are impassable, when will he send the Kshs1 million in the form of Authority to Incur Expenditure (AIE) for its repair? view
  • 20 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, now that the Assistant Minister is aware that, that road is impassable--- Some sections of Road C48 are tarmacked. Twenty seven kilometres of that road, that is from Kitale to Gachibora, are tarmacked, and 37 kilometres of the same road which passes through Marakwet District are not tarmacked. That road is the lifeline of July 20, 2006 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 2243 Marakwet District. The farmers rely on that road when they transport their crops to Eldoret. When will the Ministry provide enough funds to tarmack the road? view
  • 20 Jul 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Some sections of Road C48 are tarmacked. Some people in Trans Nzoia District are enjoying the tarmacked section while the people of Marakwet District are not. When will the Ministry tarmack that road? Is the Assistant Minister in order to mislead this House by saying that money is not available? view
