• 16 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Chair, Clause 22 attempts to give the effect of de-registration. We have clarified. We are adding a new sub-clause after sub- clause 2 which states that where a political party has been de-registered, the representatives elected to Parliament, Senate and the County Assembly shall continue to serve for the reminder of their term as independent candidates. We are saying that, that should not be the case. We disregard that according to the new sub-clause. view

• 16 Aug 2011 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Chair, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 26 of the Bill be amended (a) in paragraph (a) of sub-clause (1) by inserting the words “and in the county assemblies” after the words “in Parliament”; and (b) by inserting the following new sub-clause after sub-clause (3)- “(3A) A political party shall ensure accountability and transparency in its procurement processes”.
