  • 28 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Hon. Members, you will recall that the Chair had already deferred the next order. So, since we have exhausted the business as per the Order Paper, it is, therefore, time to adjourn the House. The House stands adjourned until Tuesday, 2nd August, 2011, at 2.30 p.m. view
  • 28 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: The House rose at 6.27 p.m. view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Question No.1 by Private Notice! view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Mbuvi is not here! Next Question! view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Sirat also not here? Next Question! view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: I agree with the hon. Member. Mr. Assistant Minister, is there any reason why you do not have the answer? view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Mwathi, the Chair has information that Mr. Ojode was travelling out of the country. So, I sympathize with the Assistant Minister when he says that he has just seen the Question. By virtue of it being a Question by Private Notice, you know it is sometimes a bit urgent. Let us grant them up to next week. view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Definitely, that is not the case! However, if the Assistant Minister requests, just like a Member can request that a Question be deferred because of commitment elsewhere, once the communication has been made to the Chair and the Chair is satisfied that there is a basis for that; and the fact that the Assistant Minister cannot answer the Question today because he would have been assisted by the other Assistant Minister, let us allow that. view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: While the Chair agrees with hon. Khalwale, you will also remember that the House has been on recess and so, that period has quite elapsed because you are talking of 14th June. These are the realities in which we operate, but you have made your point. Mr. Minister, I think your argument is that you can still guarantee the security that the hon. Member is asking for, even while you are waiting to answer this Question. Perhaps, instead of Thursday, maybe you should bring the answer on Tuesday next week. view
  • 27 Jul 2011 in National Assembly: Hon. Members, we have not prosecuted a single Question and so, let us not entertain more points of order. view
