Part “b” of the Question is asking the Assistant Minister when they will construct a dam in Mandera. The same Ministry promised Bura Constituency Bangale Dam on the 18th of December, 2010. This House has information about 400 boreholes that were drilled by the same Ministry, but were not in northern Kenya. We have no problem with this desire to convene as many meetings as possible – we wish him well – but even in those meetings where we have agreed on certain dams or projects, including Watotankari; what we are saying is that, he has not delivered. What is the point of holding those meetings when you cannot deliver on the previous commitments? view

• 18 Jan 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank the Minister for the comprehensive answer and the effort to deal with issues pertaining to pastoralists, minorities and marginalized communities. However, his efforts fall short of what we expect from this Government and this Minister in particular. In order not to be like the Minister who is talking about a situation of landlessness, perceptional and futuristic issues, I want to give him the real facts.
